Wyoming Teacher Gets Prison for Sex Abuse - Update

Former Freedom Elementary teacher Anna Andersen walks into court for sentencing Monday at the Laramie County Courthouse in Cheyenne.

Andersen, 55, was sentenced to 8 to 12 years in prison for one count of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor and 4 to 5 years in prison for one count of third-degree sexual abuse of a minor, to be served at the same time.

(Cheyenne, Wyoming) This week, elementary school teacher Anna-Maria Andersen pleaded not guilty to sexual abuse of a minor.
Andersen, 54, stood next to her attorney, Sean Barrett, shackled at the ankles as Laramie County District Judge Steven Sharpe read the charges against her.

“As for count one, third-degree sexual abuse of a minor, what do you plead?” Sharpe asked.

“Not guilty,” Andersen said in a hushed tone.

Andersen also entered not-guilty pleas to five counts of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor and one count of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor.
A trial date of August 5 has been scheduled.

Wyoming Teacher Accused of Nasty with Youngster

(Cheyenne, Wyoming) A 54-year-old teacher at Freedom Elementary School, Anna-Marie Andersen, has been accused of sexual abuse of a minor.

Andersen faces counts of first degree, second degree and third degree sexual abuse of a minor.
The victim was a boy between the ages of 13 and 15.

She was arrested by the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office on March 19th, however papers were not filed in Laramie County District Court until Friday when the information was released.

The incidents occurred between June of 2012 and March of 2014.
