Connecticut Woman Pleads for Jail in Sex Case

A homeless Bronx woman taken in last year by residents on the city's East Side is going to jail for having sex with the family's 13-year-old boy.Formal sentencing is scheduled for February 20, 2015.
Earlier this week, Sabrina Destiny Melendez, 21, pleaded guilty to second-degree sexual assault at state Superior Court in Stamford.
As part of her plea agreement worked out by Assistant State's Attorney Michelle Manning, Melendez will go to jail for nine months when she is sentenced on Feb. 20. She will be placed on probation for 10 years and will also be placed on the state's Sex Offender Registry for 10 years.
